Accessibility and facilities are top-notch!

First of all, regarding the size of the room, you’ll see many reviews mentioning that in Tokyo accommodations, you often come across phrases like “Are you really sleeping in such a small place for this money?” I think Miyashita is not much different. However, considering it’s a state-of-the-art hotel in Shibuya, where land prices are high, with all necessary facilities and great accessibility, plus a park view with good food options, I believe if you book well three months in advance, you can stay at a quite reasonable price. I stayed for two nights from May 10 to 12, 2023, and the price was 260,000 won based on a twin room. The twin room is 23 square meters (about 7 pyeong), which is not small. My younger sibling and I were able to comfortably unpack two 24-inch suitcases, and while the bedding could be improved (the pillows were high and firm), it was still manageable for sleeping.

I recommend this for those who enjoy city night views and shopping.

Since I’m already here, I decided to leave a review and booked a large room for two people (Parkside King Room). If you’re planning to stay around Shibuya, please read this! If you’re coming alone, I recommend a single room, and if you’re traveling with parents, you might want to consider your preferences. If you like city views, I recommend it. ! However, the distance from the station to the accommodation is farther than expected, so you might face difficulties traveling.

Best location for people watching on the Scramble

I stayed in a corner room to look down on the Shibuya Scramble Crossing. The room was larger than I had expected. The view down onto the crossing and all the electronic billboards was captivating. Be warned, IF you are a little uncertain about heights, the large windows and looking down to the crossing may not be for you. If you are prepared to give it a go, the room does have furniture may assist you can use instead of standing at the window looking around.

Location is all the reason you need

My go to hotel in Tokyo every time I’m here on business. The room is still pretty much the same. Got a free upgrade this time to a corner room that’s bigger and interestingly, on a dedicated Women’s Floor, for ladies only. Never knew previously they had such a level. The room came with this additional device that looks like some face steamer thing but the instructions were all in Jap so I couldn’t be bothered to figure it out but I don’t remember such an equipment in other rooms on previous stays.

Exceptional

We loved our stay at this hotel, the quality, cleanliness and size of the room were all excellent. The bar (both inside and out on the terrace) were perfect for that downtime when you want to sit and make reservations, check schedules and plan your day. The mega don quijote was directly across the road from one of the entrances, which was convenient for any necessities. All staff were friendly and helpful, we would book this again if staying in Shibuya. The laundry service was over the top and therefore expensive.

Disappointed

Booked this hotel as a treat on last night in Japan, 2 X standard rooms. The rooms are very small with nowhere to open a suitcase except take off the big roll cushion on the window seat and place there. View was nice of Tokyo as was location. The rest is just like a 3 star hotel without the amenities. I rated this as there is no pool, the smallest gym, no fancy restaurant with the reception space very underwhelming with in uncomfortable random chairs placed in the middle of the area.

Nice stay in Shibuya

Check in was easy, staff were very friendly upon arrival. Room was clean, and very spacious for a hotel located in Shibuya. Able to open my 3 large suitcases at the same time with ease. Only issue is the sound proofing isn’t great, you can hear a lot of noise from the road at night. Room service was good and fast, and delivered by a robot! The hotel facilities are alright, I thought the concept was cool – having a different themed room for each floor.

Ideal for long stays.

I stayed for 3 nights. Entering the building through the outdoor stairs by typing in a code, I climbed the stairs to the second floor, opened the door, and checked in by entering the necessary information on a tablet. At check-in, I received the room number and the code for the mini safe containing the room key. After retrieving the key from the mini safe, it felt like I could use it like a studio apartment. It had a kitchen, toilet, and shower room.

I want to stay again!

I had a very comfortable stay. The café is on the first floor, while the accommodation space is on the second to fourth floors. You can check in by yourself using a tablet at the café or on the second floor and then enter your room. It might be a bit confusing at first to enter the passcode at the gate in front of the stairs or to use the room key case that opens when you enter the passcode to get into your room, but the staff are very friendly and will explain everything patiently. I had a lot of luggage, and they kindly helped me carry my suitcase up the stairs, which was a great help.
