Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here! The property was in a great location, close to everything we wanted to see but not right in the centre of all of the tourist attractions. Staff was friendly and very helpful. And oh my gosh, the view from the bar and restaurant were gorgeous! Before booking this property, I think it’s important to know that there are two separate “sections” of this hotel — one is brand new, and one is the original part (which they’re updating). They do not show photos of the old section online, which is slightly deceiving! My husband and I booked a “Prestige” room for our honeymoon based on the photos we saw associated with that level of room online. It looked gorgeous and had hardwood floors.

The hotel upgraded our room upon arrival which was so greatly appreciated as well as had our room ready within 30 minutes of arriving mid morning. Usual check-in is after 2pm so this was so wonderful. We got settled and then went on a tour of the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica The Splendid also had a bottle of champagne chilled in our room for our Anniversary which we enjoyed that evening. How thoughtful.

This hotel is practically on the Spanish steps. There are 2 entrances, one from the street that has access to a lift, and a second that is halfway up the steps. The location is what you pay for, it is central to most of the major sites. Because of the weather (July heat/humidity) we ended up taking taxis to the Vatican and Borghese Gallery. But in good weather those sites are easily walkable.

Location – streets right outside the hotel take you easily around city. Room felt cozy with all amenities. Right next to the Spanish Steps, but my room was on the inside courtyard with a little balcony so I had the benefit of the location and quiet privacy too. The guest terrace is right on the steps if you want to enjoy the crowds at a distance with your little cup of expresso or glass of wine. Church bells in the evening a special treat.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Mario de Fiori 37, and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like we were the most important guests in Rome. I was originally supposed to stay at Hotel Mario De Fiori 37, but I got an upgrade to Hotel Babuino 181 from the same chain, which was a very pleasant surprise and made my first visit to Rome absolutely exclusive and unforgettable. The hotel staff is wonderful. There is a sense of professionalism in everything. Eleonora, Frondesk specialist, was most welcoming, attentive, very polite, and helped me out with every additional request, which is much appreciated. I needed help printing papers on a Sunday evening.

Breakfast was excellent and so was location. The room had very good sound insulation from the outside noise. Tucked away down a street, but easy to get to all the main attractions by walking. The staff at the restaurant were quite good, the pastries were impressive, and the fresh orange juice was delicious. One of our rooms had the worst Feng shui that I have ever seen.

I recently stayed at the Eitch Hotel, which is a temporary setup with only five rooms until the main hotel opens in a few months. Overall, my experience had its ups and downs. First, the positive aspects: the staff, particularly Iran, were incredibly helpful and warm. He arranged a car for our transfer to the airport, and his professionalism was greatly appreciated. And the location was great and very spacious room.

The hotel was exceptionally located as it was close to the centre and within walking distance to just about all the main attractions and stores. The hotel was also extremely clean with new facilities. The rooms were on the smaller side but the space was used very effectively. The staff were excellent in particular Ana and Ayra, they were very helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. The minor negatives would be the lack of a full sized elevator, no 24/7 reception desk, and the cleaning staff that leaves pretty early in the day so you will have to get room service early in the day.

Amazing location at the top of the Spanish Steps and around the corner from Villa Borghese (a beautiful park with stunning views of the city). The guest rooms were large and well-appointed – quiet and peaceful. Service was impeccable and gracious. The concierge was extrneley helpful. LOCATION AMAZING! Staff were great. When arrived later than expected we asked the front desk pups don take the bags to our room as we wanted to get valuable time in the city. When we arrived in the room later that evening, we discovered a number of issues. It was late so the only thing the night staff could do was move us to a temporary room for the evening. Te guest relations manager arranged a lovely suite the next morning for the remainder of our stay.

This hotel is an ideal location, right next to the Piazza Bernini!! The hotel’s small street has two of the most important streets in Rome on either side (Via Sistina and Via Veneto) – each just a half block away. It is a short walk to the Villa Medici and the Monte dei Trinita Church, the Spanish steps, and the Borghese Gardens and, in the other direction, to the Trevi Fountain and the Quirinale. It is an even shorter walk to one of the most important museums in Rome-at the Palazzo Barberini, as well as to the Museum of Modern Art and the Church and Ossuary of the Cappucins. Breakfast was all-you-can-eat (including American-style fluffy pancakes and fresh berries) and we came away with little need for lunch. The breakfast staff (Nairi and Guisi, to name the two we saw most frequently) were really nice as were the desk staff (Grace, Emanuele, Umberto), who were happy to offer suggestions for things we would enjoy and always recognized us and greeted us, as did the porter.

Room Mate Filippo is a clean, modern property in the heart of Rome with good access to the various neighborhoods and sites. Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed, sizable closet and small desk. We found the gift of a good bottle of sparkling wine and fruit upon entering our room — always appreciated after a long day of train travel! The bathroom was especially well-lighted and spacious with good water pressure in the shower and nice amenities. We appreciated the eye toward sustainability! The hotel staff were kind, very friendly and competent. The breakfast staff were especially friendly, and the included breakfast options were varied and healthy.

The location is excellent, but it is in the restricted zone. We came in a rental car (from Tuscany) that we planned to return the same day in Rome. We were able to park temporarily to drop off luggage and the front desk attendant registered our vehicle for the restricted zone. I recommend you email the hotel in advance if you will be arriving by rental car, so they can give you clear instructions on what to do. The breakfast was good and the best part was that it was fully serviced – not a help-yourself buffet.

The exceptional accommodations set in a historical place, the service, and the People of Palazzo Talìa all made it the greatest stay we’ve ever had in any hotel, period. Daniele and his colleagues at the reception desk gave their utmost best to cater to our needs and requests, from a pharmacy order to a last minute private tour of the Galleria Borghese. Michaele and his colleagues at the bar and restaurant offered Michelin level cocktails, drinks and service, all met by the quality of dishes of Chef Marco Coppola. The stay exceeded our expectations on all points. We highly recommend the tour of the property with Miss Angelica, who was able to guide us through the history of the Palazzo and the intent and ideas behind the renovation.
