Hotel Aquila Atlantis in Heraklion, Crete is a class act! Located in the center of Heraklion, within walking distance to the harbour and the old center, it provides everything a discerning traveller might require. The room with harbour view, is spacious, with comfortable bed, pillow menu, seating space with coffee table and a large desk/table, which works best if you need to work or just to arrange your stuff. There is a large build in wardrobe, with enough space for everything you need. There is also a safe, which can take in your laptop. The en suite bathroom has a large walk in shower with rain shower, in black marble, which gives it a luxurious feel.

The suite was gorgeous and looked right out onto the seaport. The table and lounging area was nice for room service and spreading out to be comfortable. We appreciated having two toilets. The balconies were fun for relaxing on in the evening, and drying laundry on the chairs during the hot days. Room service was extremely fast, plentiful, tasty! The restaurant downstairs also showed excellent service and food for dinner.

We stayed in this hotel with my wife and our one-year-old for 3 nights. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They would always greet us with a smile and ask if everything was ok. The hotel has seen better times: the design and the furniture are a bit worn. However, the staff was very kind and helpful (and multilingual), the breakfast buffet satisfied all kinds of desires and the location in the city centre (Archaeological Museum 100m, bus stop to/from airport 100m, old city around the corner, corona test centre 200m) was just ideal. The pool area is quite nice as it is on the rooftop where they also serve food & drinks. The pool itself is rather small and the number of sunbeds is limited. The cleaning of the room was “limited”: the bathroom was cleaned daily, the bed was made but the rest of the room, especially the floor wasn’t swept/cleaned once.

While not the fanciest of hotels, the LIRR of the rooftop pool with food service was something I couldn’t ignore. It did not disappoint. The pool itself is on the small side, but it’s nice to take a dip in the hottest part of the day. Adjoining the pool area is a bar/restaurant area, with lounge chair service and a full restaurant and bar menu. 👏🏾☀️ 🍹 🍲 The rooms are small, as are the bathrooms, but I’ve been in smaller in Europe.

Definitely the fanciest hotel we stayed at on our trip. The service is on a very high level and we were given lots of amenities like a bottle of wine, snacks, water and olive oil. The breakfast is really nice and the service at the restaurant exceptional. The recommended good restaurant for us and they were very pleasant about having us store bags and hang out at the pool on the day we checked out since our plane was departing late. The pool temperature was perfect and felt great on a hot day.

A very well equipped and modern hotel in a nice part our Heraklion, a bit outside of the immediate downtown area. Lovely pool, restaurant. Wonderful buffet breakfast. The hotel is about 1km from the Archaeology museum and about a 10 – 15 minute drive to Knossos. The front desk staff recommended two wonderful restaurants in close walking distance for dinner.

I had the pleasure of staying at Mitsis Hotel in late May 2022 and it was an experience of a lifetime. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way, from the stunning rooms to the delicious cuisine, but what truly made it exceptional was the staff. Upon arrival, I was greeted with warm hospitality and genuine care from the entire team. The staff at Mitsis Hotel were exceptional, and their passion for their work was evident in every aspect of my stay. Panagiotis, the restaurant manager, was exceptional in his role.

I would question the classification of this hotel however as the food in areas didn’t speak 5 stars. Whilst the main restaurant is at its peak quality during breakfast, sadly the lunch and evening dishes were very al la school dinner in presentation with very little taste or finesse. The hotel is pretty nice – modern design, great and friendly staff, direct access to a sandy beach. Room was very cool – I stayed in a two-floor room with a shared pool (right from the room), which looked beautiful and comfy. There are minibars on both floors and they are all free and refilled with All Inclusive. Beach was also pretty good – plenty of spaces, comfy beds and a couple of small bars right there so that you don’t need to walk back to the main building in case you want a drink or a snack. Staff was also very nice, which is a pleasure – nobody is trying to get rid of your request and e.

Lovely location, not far from the airport. We had a beach facing private pool room which was perfect for not worrying about getting sun loungers etc. the room was lovely, comfortable & clean. Staff were always really friendly throughout the hotel. The lady managing the pizza area was brilliant! Beach area was big with an adults only area at the end.

Just returned from Royal Sun. Hotel is set on a hill few miles from town. But operates a free bus every half an hour till midnight. No bus between 2pm and 6 pm. Tho.

Royal Sun location is excellent for leisure stayings, on the outskirts of Chania, with a lovely view over the city. Access to the city and back is offered for free, every 30 minutes, by comfortable minibus. Had no issues finding a parking spot within the premises. The room was clean, had everything needed for longer accommodation, beds were super comfortable. Room service was done daily.

The staff are so lovely and helpful, they couldn’t do enough for you. The water park was amazing but we only used it once due to a change in the weather. Room size and facilities were good (the shower was amazing), we had a family suite with a balcony overlooking the private sharing pool (which we could use) but next time we would go for a family suite with direct access to this pool. The mini bar was stocked daily with soft drinks, water and a couple of beers which was a nice surprise! Hotel is nice and clean and the food was great, especially in the Asian and Mexican restaurant. We didn’t get to book into the Greek restaurant which was a shame.

The overall facilities are very nice, the Waterpark is exceptional. The location is good, not far from the airport, and close to other attractions suitable for kids. We are a family with 3 young kids. Regarding the room, First, I strongly recommend not staying in the 900+ numbered rooms. They are poorly located between the parking lot and the water park.
